Selection Day

LCH.Clearnet Limited recruits its students for Industrial Placements by running an Assessment Centre at our offices in London.

Those students who are successful at the application stage will be invited to a one day Assessment Centre where you will be involved in various tasks.

You will be split up into groups across all disciplines and will be required to participate in the following:

Individual Face to Face Interview

You will meet with a manager from the department for which you are applying and a member of the Human Resources department.

Questions will be asked to assess your technical knowledge, your attitude towards your placement, team fit and your aspirations for the future as well as asking you questions about your degree course.

Ability Tests

You will be required to sit English and Maths based tests.

The English based test is designed to test your ability to understand written passages and the logical evaluation of an argument.

The maths based test measures your understanding of statistical tables and numerical data and your ability to make logical deductions from them.

Each test lasts approximately 30 minutes and you will be sent practice examples before you come to the Assessment Centre.

Group Work and Presentation

Working in your groups you will be required to work together on a piece of work and then present your finding to some of the LCH.Clearnet Limited managers.

Only a small proportion of marks will be awarded for the actual presentation, with your contribution and team-working skills gaining you a higher proportion of the marks.

Please Note: If you are successful in being offered a placement position at LCH.Clearnet Limited there is a small possibility that you might be offered a job in an area other than the one you applied to, if we think your skills will fit better.
